now i believe she will need to learn to live inside. but how can i do that? she's really into biting stuff so she might do the same to the things like furnitures inside. the new house we're moving in has no fences..

she's about 4 yrs old

Well you cannot expect her to live outside as she has been doing with no boundaries and hope that she stays in them all day and night while not being monitored.

I think you may have to invest in a kennel & run for when she is unsupervised and make sure she is taken on several good walks a day.

I don't like to see dogs living outside, but it can be equally wrong to bring them in after 4 yrs and cope with our central heating.

I'm afraid if you are taking her out of her environment then you have to provide an equally safe one wherever you are going.

labs are smart dogs so you'll have to start with some intense training - make sure she comes to you when you call her name when she's outside....potty train her and all that stuff.
And you'll have to invest in a lot of good toys to keep her brain occupied so she doesn't chew the legs off your lounge.
In the new place, perhaps if you're only going out for a little while, you can put some baby gates in the door ways so she's not limited to a tiny space.
Again, training her she's only allowed in certain areas of the house might be a good idea (i have a friend with a dog that's only allowed on tiled/floor board areas of the house, not the carpet)
and like the 1st answer says, looking into getting a dog run is a great idea so she can stil get fresh air outside and be in a safe enclosure.

lucky its a lab!

you can find it a good home for it because you have really got to be kidding yourself if you think a large dog with no house traing will survuve inside (and your sanity intact!)

so your going to learn the hard way that dogs belong inside...yes I said INSIDE for 1/3 of the day...every day.

Because dogs belong in a pack you now have to teach it to be accepted by the pack. It doesnt need your aproval to converse outside, so this is going to confuse your dog and it's going to go nuts!

Do your research and you will find a huge rang of dog traing schools. its your only chance to keep your dog

But you never should have kept your dog outside in the first place, now you've made doggy taining very difficult.

While I don't condone leaving a dog outside 24x7 if you have no choice you could get the invisible fence system. I have used one for 10 years and have never had a break out. But, I keep my dogs inside when I'm at work and they know the rules.
